Dr. Lakshmi Vas completed her MD in Anaesthesia in the year 1983 as the Best Outgoing Candidate from University of Bombay (Mumbai), India. She got her initial training in Oncology Anaesthesia and Pain Management in Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She has been practicing Anaesthesiology for the last 20 years, mainly cancer and pediatric Anaesthesia. She is a specialist Pediatric Anaesthesiologist, with particular interest in regional nerve blocks.

Her varied medical experience includes:

:: Erstwhile Honorary Consultant & Head of Department of Wadia Children's Hospital, Mumbai.
:: Consultant Anaesthesiologist in K. K. Hospital for Children, Singapore by special invitation.
:: Served as faculty in International and National conferences and CME's.
:: Numerous articles on pain and regional nerve blocks in International and National Journals.
:: Chapter contributions to text books on pediatric, regional Anaesthesia nerve blocks.
:: Invitation to be a reviewer for "Current Opinions in Anaesthesia", USA.

With keen interest in Pain Management she has devised many innovative techniques for pain management and regional blocks particularly for Indian working conditions.

She is a practitioner of Yoga for the last 8 years. She also gained her Diploma in Acupuncture, after 1 year training in theory and practice of Acupuncture and special training in Sri Lanka with Dr. Anton Jayasuriya.
